    I recommend this hotel because I think the location is quite favorable. It is situated near a small pedestrian zone with restaurants and shops and a beautiful chinese gate. The room decor is not a modern one which I liked because it had a personal touch. Besides, it was comfortable and clean. We probably didn't arrive at a good time because they were just renovating the lobby. The noise was a little disturbing, but only because we just arrived and were tired from the journey and jetlag. Anyway, the renovation will be finished soon, so no problem!
    Staff was friendly and spoke sufficient English. Breakfast was included in the price (around € 60 for the double room, booked over the internet) and was good, there was enough choice for Chinese and Western tastes.

  • The location is unbeatable. The hotel is rated 4 star to the local standard but definitely not 4 star on international scale. The staff is very friendly, and professional. The building is however very lacking in ventilation and so the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke. The room was stuffy as the air con is just not strong enough. but the staff is very nice to bring in the cooler for us.
    I won't say it's value for money as it's the most expensive 4-star in Kunming, but again the location at the heart of the shopping district is so good. Breakfast on the top floor with a good view of the city is also very agreeable. The food is bearable, with cereal, toast, coffee and loads of Chinese dishes.

    this hotel is part of our tour of yunnan.. we stayed here 3 nites.. which was great as this is one of the better hotels in our trip.. it's smack in the middle of kunming town.. walking distance to everything.. jinbi lu.. zhengyi lu.. bird and flower market.. also, the rooms are pretty nice and, more importantly, very clean.. i'm not too sure about the price but i heard that it's not extorbitantly expensive.. around usd50..

    the breakfast served here is one of the best in our whole trip!! and it's the only place that serves a decent western breakfast of sausages and sauteed mushrooms.. :)
