We got very lucky with our room. In 810 we had a corner balcony which looked directly onto the sea. We also had amazing views of Mount Biokovo and the best of all, the incredible sunsets every night. The room was clean and well furnished with what looked like new furnishings and the bathroom was a good size with a good shower. I had expected an old fashioned, bog standard kind of room, so was delighted to be greeted by this room.
If you're going defintiely ask if you can have a room on the 10+ side as this will ensure sea, mountain and sunset views of breath taking beauty.
Despite being slightly unsightly i'd definitely recommend the Dalmacija. The rooms are a good size and standard, and the facilities were excellent (free safety deposit box a highlight). The breakfast selection was ok. The cooked stuff looked a bit ropey but plenty of people were tucking in so assume it was ok. I mainly ate fruit, bread and pastries, though there is also cereals, toast, yoghurt to go with the cooked eggs (scrambled and boiled), bacon and sausages.
The pool was nice though it was tough to get a sun lounger if you weren't there early. Usual problem of certain people "reserving" them with towels at day break! This is not really a problem though as the beach is a minute away! We mostly used the pool area as a post beach retreat. Pool has salty water in though which was a surprise to me!
The entertainment guys and girls were energetic and busy, though they didn't get in your face if you made it clear you didn't want to line dance or whatever.
Overall a great place for couples/families to stay and a great base to see the rest of Makarska and the surrounding area.
