Imagine the heat, the dust that you can suffer from in tropical conditions, and suddenly you hear the sound of Fan Milk. You wave, he stops and you take a look at the assortment. Oh it’s soooo hard to choose, but my favourites are: 1. FanYogo Vanilla Yoghurt (frozen); 2. FanYogo Strawberry Yoghurt (frozen); 3. Tampico (rarely frozen but ice-cold lemon / orange juice); 4. FanIce (Vanilla Ice); 5. Tropical Cocktail (another great juice); 6. Fanpop (water ice that comes in 5 different tastes); 7. FanYogo Chocolate Milk (frozen). Outside Lomé it’s unusual to find them available all at the same time. They typically cost from EUR 0,10 (Fanpop) to EUR 0,20 (Yogo). Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

At the Marché des Féticheurs you find many goods related to Voodoo rituals and practises. Voodoo is one of the oldest religions in the world that probably originates from Benin and Togo, and in Togo it is still practised a lot. At the market you can also find a voodoo doctor, if you want a consult. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

At the Marché des Féticheurs you’ll find thousands of dried animals, parts of which you may use for traditional medicines and magical drinks! In popular demand seem dried birds, chameleons, and other animals that are normally described as small bushmeat, as well as heads of crocodile, dog and sheep. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

If you’re into animal skins, you will find a large variety at the Marché des Féticheurs in Lomé. At the market you may like to observe skilled craftsmen preparing fresh skins. It’s interesting to see aspects of the skin that are in daily life out of sight! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The specialty of the Marché des Féticheurs are skulls, and I cannot think of an animal skull that is not available here. Besides the usual trade you have a good chance of finding valuable skulls and bones belonging to several types of monkey, rhino and elephant! These are expensive and usually you won’t need much of it to solve the problem or cure the illness, so commonly people buy small pieces only Leave a Comment Theme: Other
