Visit Mana Pools National Park. It really is a wonderful park, there are lots of animals here, hippos and elephants being the most abundant, and the scenery here really is fantastic...
I miss the curio shops in Zimbabwe, they are everywhere, and if you bargain hard enough you can get some amazing gifts for next to nothing... Leave a Comment

Visit Harare and Bulawayo, the two main cities, the wildlife parks and enjoy the beautiful nature of the country like Lake Kariba, Lake Chivero and Vic Falls.
The fondest memory I have of Zimbabwe must be the connection you feel with the land and the elements. The contrast between Europe and Africa is enormous and out there in the bush you feel very small indeed.

Visit the Matopos National Park, Khami ruins, Victoria Falls and just travel around the place and enjoy the wildlife.
Feeling really lost when I arrived in my village and wandering over to the bottle store for a beer. Within minutes, I had a crowd of the locals around me who saw I wasn't feeling too great and came to cheer me up and make me feel welcome. I had my first taste (and not the last either!) of chibuku (local brew) and in a few minutes had a whole crowd of friends. I never forgot that kindness. Also, lying in the back of a flat-bed truck at about 3 in the morning. It was so hot, I couldn't sleep. just looking into the sky and seeing more stars than I have seen anywhere else. Then, I learned not to lay in a truck as the metal was so hot, I burned my bum!! Leave a Comment

I really enjoy half-way house on the way between Harare and Beira, Mozambique... Hell I enjoy the entire road there... just the nature of it...
Can't really remember what the name of the safari-park I went to last time I was there, but anyway the wardens where riding on elephants (african ones) with their ak47:s ready, looking out for poachers... that was cool. Great game too...

At Safari Lodge and Lokuthula Lodge the animals browse in the camp virtually on your doorstep. What a surprise to open your door early the next morning and there is this huge elephant. Magic! Leave a Comment

SW & Pietro enjoying a sundowner on a sunset cruise. Victoria Falls is a must to see when visiting Zimbabwe. We visited the Falls in May and the Zambezi was in full flood. Spectacular to see, but often difficult to photograph when walking in the rain forest. Highly recommended things to do is to jump the 111m down the bridge, fly in an ultra-light plane over the Falls area, go on a sunset cruise. Leave a Comment
