It is wonderful with beautiful nature and several places you will be shocked to see were there are buildings... Some places people need ropes to get to their houses and food was lifted up by ropes too. THE PHOTO: MUM AND SONAM IN COUNTRYSIDE NEAR THIMPHU. Leave a Comment

A nice thing to do is a visit of one of the hotsprings you find in Bhutan. Especially in autumn and winter is is a wondeful experience that can be combined with a trekking. Do not expect a spa infrastructure - what you will find at the most are square wooden basins 3 by 3 meter. There is no medical support. It reminded me of the prints of european medival baths. To Gaza hotsprings local people come from all over country. Leave a Comment

Although the whole country is an "off the beaten path", we did find some others that were not shown by tourist guides. There aren't a lot of "bars" or "pubs" in Bhutan, however, in Bhumtang, we saw a lot of houses marked with "Bars". One day we had pretty much free time before dinner, we decided to get into one of the bars. To our surprise the whole bar was a shop with some seats and a TV set. All people were sitting to the direction of the TV, so did we. We ordered some local tea and watched Indian TV with them. It was fun and relaxing. Leave a Comment

Near Metshina on the way to Punakha is Chimi Lhakhang, a temple where couples go for help with fertility. The hike will take you through fields and up the side of a hill. Once inside you can receive a blessing for a small offering. Great view from the top! Leave a Comment

I arrived here just before some VIP monks so they had laid pine needles on the path. It was so picturesque and smelt wonderful.
