Well, that is very well true...or shud I say "ALMOST' true. Not only that, there are also Eifeil Tower, Mount Rushmore, Spinx of Egypt, Leaning Tower etc.

A visit to the Windows of the World is a must. I felt like I have travelled around the world just in half a day....hehehehe better isnt it?

Anyway, this area are well fitted with sculptures and significant monuments of a country. It is huge and you need lots of stamina & energy and of course sufficient memory of your digital camera card or rolls of films if you still using analog camera.

All my pics taken here are using analog and we manage to finish of 2 1/2 rolls of film!

    Pearl River Delta

    Pearl River Delta, China

The Pearl River runs from somewhere near Guangzhou city (capital of Guangdong province, China) all the way to the sea near to Hong Kong and Macau, creating a huge delta known as the Pearl River Delta. There are many towns and cities located here, some of them are Shenzhen, Fuyong, Dongguan, Zhuhai etc. There is a good ferry service network which connects Hong Kong and Macau to the various coastal towns of the Pearl River Delta.

    Take A Cab
  • Tip Rating:
  • Just got this taxi view early in the morning somewhere and was struck by the numerous taxis available.

I heard there are 3 different kinds of taxi's in Shenzhen ... it was the red one I used to drive around.

A taxi is very cheap, although insist upon using the meter however ...

And ... it is told you can bargain for a lower price when going for a long ride, or with trips after midnight ... (in Chinese I suppose ... )

Let the hotel staff write down your wanted destination, and just grab a cab! You could be lucky and have a fab time ...

In worst case ... Shenzhen taxi drivers got famous, too, for horror stories and ripping up the purses of their clients ...

    Window Of The World
  • Tip Rating:
  • Window of the World is a fantastic replica park situated at the Overseas Chinese Town. Here you can see vivid replicas of the world's wonders, historical heritages and famous scenic sites. You can visit many reproductions of famous sites from different countries such as Mahamuni Pagoda of Rangoon and the Angkor Wat of Cambodia, European architectural splendors like Eiffel Tower, the Ancient Athens, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Tower of London, the cruel and bloody scene of miniature Roman Colosseum, the canals of Venice, the Pyramids and the Sphinx of Africa, the Oceania, Sydney Opera House of Australia, Niagara Falls and Grand Canyon of America, replica of Manhattan with towering skyscrapers.
The park is huge and has a lot to offer. It will take a whole day to fully explore it. You will have a nice time in this miniature world.

    Tunnel trunk?
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the funny way to enter Shenzhen, though to us it used to be the tunnel trunk right away to Luo Hu (Lo Wu) Commercial City. Just out of our hotel ... into the tunnel trunk.

That is the supreme paradise for all persons eager to buy, and at the same time worst horror for their possible partners ...

I've seen friends going up and down every single moment they could spend, to look, to feel, to smell, to buy, to shop until ... ... ...

Even I got used to it and shuttled there and back, coming and going, time and again ...

Only when back home again I took notice of the amount of all of my presents ...

    Presents ???

    explore china in one day
  • Tip Rating:
  • go through time and the famous spots in china in just one day by going to Splendid China/China Folk Culture Village. One side is occupied by miniatures and one side features lifesize houses and real people representing China's vast ethnic minority groups.
be prepared to spend the whole day here. there are mini-shows going on throughout the day in each themed village and one grand show starting at 7PM every night.
    Entrance fee is RMB120.

    hop in hong fa temple
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Hong Fa Temple is the only "real" Buddhist temple in Shenzhen according to the Temple Guy himself. It is nestled at the bottom of a mountain. And if you go on a climbing trip to Mt. Wutong, one of the trails ends up here. It sort of brings a spiritual touch to mountain climbing. Making the arduous trek and ending in a holy place is like our journey in this world, and ending in salvation or enlightenment. But I digress.
The temple is huge, with many halls dedicated to various Buddhist figures with big ones such as the Laughing Buddha and Amitabha buddha.
Incense and flowers are available at the main entrance for a small fee if you want to make an offering. The temple is overlooking the beautiful Fairy Lake.
No entrance fee to the temple but the grounds it is on - the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden - charges RMB20 to get in. Once there, a mini-bus takes you up to the temple which should cost you around RMB2 one way.

    jetskiing in shenzhen
  • Tip Rating:
  • looking for an adrenaline rush? try jetskiing in any of the "twin" beaches in shenzhen - dameisha or xiaomeisha beach.
it's 50RMB per person (jetski seats 2 customers and 1 guide) per 10 minutes.
dont forget to scream at the top of your lungs as you speed up and make the sea your playground.
this was my first time trying it and i had a LOT of fun.
while dameisha is free, you have to pay an extra 20RMB to get into xiaomeisha beach.
there's also parasailing and cable ride.

    Luoho Commercial City
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the huge shopping mall (actually I would describe it more as a bazaar) that is located after you clear immigration at the Lo Wu border crossing.
It's jam-packed with small boutiques and stalls selling Chinese arts and crafts, watches, clothing and accessories.
Remember to bargain: you will be quoted a ridiculous price for anything you are interested in. You just walk away and they will come after you asking you to name your price. Don't be afraid to knock off 90% of their quote...then take it from there :)
One thing I didn't like about this place is the constant hassle from people asking me to buy a DVD or watch. Some of them are quite pushy. Eventually I just blanked them.
