 | Shenzhen Transportation | Tips 51 - 60 of 76 | | Popular Transportation | Other Transportation Tips | All Tips (76) Shenzhen is well covered by its metro system from the Hong Kong border to the Theme parks. You can take metro to all the destinations in town you might want to visit.Luo hu is the station at the border.Lao jie is the station in the old city where you can walk around and check prices on many items. If you would like to visit Lizhi park you should get off at the Da ju Yuan station and that goes up to the window of the world (and the other theme parks) A trip costs 2-5 yuan depends on the distance. no speaky chinesey? try the subway. the names of the places are written in english. all you have to do is remember which stands for what; luo hu - to cross the border going to hk and shopping in the luo hu mall guo mao - exit this and you will find yourself in a modern mall, cross the street and there's an HSBC lao jie = is the dongmen shopping area. etc. no need to deal with non-english speaking taxi drivers, plus the ride is cheap - from 2 RMB up. it runs from luo hu to oct - overseas chinese town (shi jie chi chuang), where all the theme parks are - happy valley, windows of the world, etc. its just easier, faster and cheaper a tip - due to the long, messy lines at the ticket machines, it's better to purchase a train card which costs 100 yuan, with a 50 yuan balance. it's really helpful when youre in a hurry. I online purchase www.airasia.com from Shenzhen to Kuala Lumpur at Malaysian RInggit 750 each person (all taxes included), around US$200, 2 ways (return). This low cost airline did not provided free meals! I had to buy a rice/chicken (Malaysian Nasi Lemak) and a cup of super weird taste creamy tea (Malaysian Teh-tarik), it taste like wood. And I got vomit 10 minutes later, probably caused by the weird taste or probably they sold me the one expired. The reason I eat the Nasi Lemak was because I saw the beautiful menu, so nicely printed, a fresh green banana leaf with white rice on it with curries plus sliced cucumber, wow! I paid 7 Ringgit and later what I ate was a aluminum foil made kind of plate with rice and some unappealing looked curries, with no cucumber at all. Do not try carry a bottle of water into the plane, the x-ray machine can see through your handbag, they want you to throw into the dustbin immediately. (I saw tons of water bottle in it, all contributed by passengers) ********************************* Got to run This plane is free seat. You must run if you scare. I saw most passengers run for good seat. Malaysian must run. Malaysia Boleh! ********************************* The rest are OK, so far so good. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Shenzhen Airport is architecturally modern, but frustratingly 1970s in the way it handles passengers. There are two terminals, and it is not clear until you get there which terminal handles which airlines. Check-in is done the old-fashioned way....one desk - one flight.....so you have many empty check-in desks (with bored staff sitting behind them) and long, long, long lines of passengers queueing to check-in. The information screens are confusing because they show the fight number and check-in desk but not the departure time. This is fine if things are going well, but if there are cancellations it makes it *really* difficult to find the departure times of other flights....even harder when the screen (in Terminal A) is rotating at the same time!!!!! The online flight information is also poorly planned because the Departure listing only shows accurate information for the first page, and for the second page onwards shows only the *Arrival* information. Grrrrrrrrr. Why is it so difficult to get these really simple things sorted out? As a rule of thumb: Terminal A: CZ, MU, HU, 3U, FM, MF Terminal B: CA, ZH, SC, 3E Leave a Comment

There're 2 ways to get to Shenzhen airport from Hong Kong: 1. By KCR train (HKD36) + bus (20Y) After passing through the Shenzhen boarder from Hong Kong by train, there is a direct minibus service from the minibus terminal beside Shangri-La Hotel. The number is K568. It leaves the terminal every 15 minutes or so for the Shenzhen Airport. It costs 20 yuan and the journey takes 40-50 minutes. Info hotline: 755-27451750 2. By Ferry from Tsimshatsui (HKD189) It take one hour from Tsishatsui China Hong Kong City to Shenzhen airport. Ticket available at China Travel Service (travel agency) www.chinatravel1.com Leave a Comment

If you need to get from Shen Zhen to downtown Luohu, you can either take the 1)Nice big blue airport bus which would dump you at the backside of Luohu Commercial City or 2)A mini bus which would dump you at a nicer location in Luohu Commercial City (at the front, near the bus terminal) or 3)A cab which cost 5 times more than option 1 and 2. Both buses and cabs are just outside of the departure gates. The bus cost 20RMB and takes about 1 hour to travel to Luohu whereas the cab cost about 5 times more and takes about 30-40min to reach there. Tip: Do not sucuumb to temptation and follow those lousy touts who approach you at the depart. gates. Chances are, they are illegal taxi drivers with no price meters. Go with them and you'll get fleeced/robbed/God knows what else. The legal taxis are just wating outside. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

We entered Shenzhen by bus. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Zhuhai where we got in. The bus is AC, and only seats. Speciality is the fact the bus terminal is just behind the hotel we stayed in Shenzhen. Schedule Zhuhai / Shenzhen: Daily every half hour 08.00 - 08.30 - 09.00 - 09.30 ... ... ... until 19.30 hrs Costs: Adults 80 yuan Kids 40 yuan Students 70 yuan Included a bottle of water. Did a lot of research on the web in order to find out how to get from Guangzhou airport to Shenzhen downtown. The information was hard to find, but reality was a lot more simple. When you get out of the plane, there are several buss companies selling tickets straight to Shenzhen. We paid 80 RMB and the busses leave around every hr. Trips takes max. 2hrs. The buss companies serve of course several destinations. From Shenzhen we tried to go to Macau by Ferry, which should have been quite straightforward, but we caught up in shopping, so we had to go to Macau through Hong Kong. Very straightforward, but to go through customs from Shenzhen to Hong Kong takes some time, beware! So, to go to Hong Kong, just take a cab to the Shenzhen railways station and from there BIG signs guide you to Hong Kong. From there you can take the sub to any place you want in HK, in our case to the ferry terminal in order to get to Macau. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

RMB60 per person. Super VIP, clean, big seat, no smoking (yes no smoking, no spitting). Less than 2 hours on beautiful highway, sending you to Guang-Yuan Bus Station in Guangzhou. This bus operates every 9 minutes at the Luohu Bus Statiton (next to railway station), no need to buy ticket in advance. You buy the bus ticket on the bus, RMB60 only. Toilet on bus, free mineral water. ************ Buses to other location are available here too, you need to go into the shopping mall which is upstair on the bus station to queue and buy your ticket. Lots of foreigners here, so you need not worry. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus
