Since opening as a Special Economic Zone for manufacturing next to Macao, Zhuhai has become a major tourism location like Shenzen.

There are many golf resorts, beaches and islands to visit including theme parks. There are many seafood and Chinese restaurants and place for foot reflexology, karaoke and night entertainment as well as hot springs.

There are many industrial parks with factories of Taiwanese, Hong Kong as well foreign companies with the Made in China for domestic consumption and the rest of the world.

The nearby Zhongshan, the birth place of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, considered the father of Modern China by China and Taiwan is worth a day trip visit.

There are many modern apartment buildings and high rises built along the beautiful sea coast.

When you enter China, Zhuhai, from Macau you're just gonna jump into a huge mall. My first idea of entering China was walking along a large road, lonely and ... chinese?

Hahaha, nope, it's bustling of life, business, money, and crowdy with people, yep, a lot of Chinese. It's overwhelming walking in the mall that asorbs you underground. Don't worry, the products there will overwhelming you, too! Just name it, and go in search of it.

	Fisher Girl Statue of Zhuhai Tip Rating:

A modern Zhuhai landmark is the Fisher Girl Statue located at the coast on the north east of downtown. This nearly 9 meter sculpture was based on a local folk tale. It is located at the scenic bay of Xianglu Bay.

The view surrounding of mountain, open sea and modern condominium skyscrappers into the blue sky was worth the visit. There arer stone bridges over the sea for some nice photo shots.

Can be reached by Bus 9 or Bus 99. We drove there.

If you are not coming from Macao to Zhuhai, take the opportunity to cross the border to visit Macao with its Portuguese influence and international casinos.

But remember if you re-enter China from Macao, you need another China visa entry.

You can join a local tour or take a combination of buses and taxis to get around Macao which is really small and unique with a combination of Chinese and Portuguese heritage.

	Beautiful Zhuhai Seaside Park Tip Rating:

Clean and beautiful park next to the sea, and just half a kilometer from the Zhuhai Fisher Lady statue. Lots of flowers to see, and you can walk up the hill to get nice view!

Directions: Lover road..Take bus 9 or 99 form gongbei should get there.

view to zhuhai from the top

Get a view to the sea and the city from Xiniu Wangyue Shan Mountain.

Climb all the way top of the mountain.
At the top there is usually people selling tourist junk and offering to take photos and print them out for you.

Try to find the temple under a big stone and see a house inside a stone there also!

from near the top can take small path to the jida reservoir lake, lots of butterflies on the way in every possible color.

no entrance fee.

Directions: Near Yangpao'an statue, it is the mountain with the cableway going there.(can see easily from zhuhai fisher lady statue.)

Zhuhai Fisher Lady Statue

Beautiful statue by the sea.
good place to go for a walk on the seaside.
Can see many visitors here usually.

No entrance fees. There is usually couple street sellers to offer you cheap statues and other tourist junk.

Address: Lover Rd. C, Next to the Seaside park.

Directions: Get a Zhuhai map from some bookshop, travel company, long distance bus stations and you will see the statue on the map easily.

When leaving the border-mall of Zhuhai at the Gongbei Gate you may enter Zhuhai-city. Well, to me it looked like walking into the center. A very nice promenade where you cannot read a thing! The promenade street is named the "Lotus Street".

Ofcourse Zhuhai, actually a prefecture-level city, is Chinese and they donot mind their language for translating not the least trouble. I can imagine, why they should anyway?

Just go for that walk and enjoy the hustle and bustle here. Try, please try some of the delicious food in the stalls and do not ask what it is. I had some wonderful tries and I must tell you, it was absolutely delicious. Ofcourse my brother knew how to order and told us later what we had eaten ... *lol*

Zhuhai Beach

Nice little beach right at Zhuhai.
(entrance fee is 2 yuan, but if you go early enough, before 7am i think, its free to go in to the beach.) *** Update: the walls have been taken off..everyone is free to go in the beach, but also seems nobody cleans it often anymore ***

At 'winter' time it seems quite empty.
Other times you can see people practising
tai chi in the small park area there and many swimmers at the sea in day time and even before sunrise.
