This is probably the most important thing about Dalian. I didn't know about this at all when I first came here back during the summer of 2001. However, after weeks of rumor and going to the wrong place and getting frustrated because the taxi drivers never know what I'm talking about, I found it: David Bar.
The bar's name sounds kinda hokey, but after staring at Birvon's ugly mug for a long time and not seeing any other people who spoke English, I decided I was going crazy. David Bar is agreed upon as THE expat bar in Dalian. Lots of Russians, Japanese, Australians, Brits, Americans, and Chinese, too. The beer is around 5 yuan for warm K-Lion, and 10 yuan for a mug of cold, yes cold, Budweiser. So, not only can you meet people from all over the world that are also living in Dalian, you can live it up and get schnockered for virtually nothing. The bar's atmosphere varies from evening to evening. It can be anywhere from loud and crazy to calm and mellow, depending on when you go and who you're with. I'm usually there Friday and Saturday nights.

What I most liked in this park were all those latticework sculptures of the different sports. Must be at least thirty sculptures. My poor girlfriend suffered a lot, I think. She followed me almost wordless till I fisnished taking photos. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Zhongshan Square is a music square. In summer many people play badminton, shuttlecock and dance here.

Bearing in mind that Yingkou is a small place, other than karaoke, there is not much of a nightlife to speak of. We walked the main strip in about 20 minutes and went to the grocery store but I'd have to say the most interesting thing we did is to go to a street BBQ. There had to be about 20 up and down this one street and they offer all sorts of delicacies...lets see there was of course chicken, pork, and beef, prawns, octopus, dog, grubs (or something really close to that) and of course fresh pigeon. And I do mean fresh...plucked and eviscerated just meters away from the fire! The source of some of the fires were also coming out of the street (like they were tapped into the city gas line). Just for the record, we didn't eat dog meat, grubs or pigeon - just the basics. It wasn't gormet but it was an experience! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

very good light and place to hang out there at night!many chinese go there, just for play ball and jumping kill ball - hard to describe .. you understand it after you see it yourself.

Banana is a great place to go with friends. It is filled with thumping music and people. The prices are a bit high but by paying a bit extra you get to have a great time until 4:00 AM when the club closes. If you are a guy, expect to have Chinese girls all over you.
