enjoy the sunshine, sea and sand. You may go there also in the night, the feeling is great.

If you look at other entries, you'll find directions on how to get to the brewery. However, what few of those entries show is that after you tip a few down, you can visit the water temple that is iconalized on the top of the beer bottle label. If you don't believe me, grab a beer and wander the old city beach and look at the temple first hand.

In the heart of New Qingdao (about 10mi from the old city), the waterfront has had a facelift of a new board walk, statues and beach combings.
Enjoy the statues, warm sun and get some excercise. Directions: Opposite the courtyard from the Goverment house.

Another fun-filled activity that costs nothing.
Wait for the tide to go. Then get to a rocky beach and start turning over the rocks. Crabs hide underneath. And little fish of all kinds swim in the poodles.

Climb the Xin4 Hao4 (Signal) Mountain.
It is only 100m, and along the way you see all sorts of plants. Plenty of greenery.
Once you get to the top you climb an ugly red building onto a floor which revolves, so you get to see a 360 degree view of the old town. Splendid.
Also, at the car park you can see the Governor's house from a distance. That makes it look like a toy house. Very pretty.

There is a wooden walkway to the east of the bathing beach. Just walk it. Great view of the sea and of the colonial houses on your left. You can also see people taking bridal pictures (Yuk, how dirty their gowns are). Best of all, it costs nothing. Leave a Comment
