Eat at the streets!

  • While walking around the local markets, you will find many food vendors, offering varied fried things and food to take away. I tried a few of them and all were delicious and really really cheap... though I never got to know what exactly was I eating, LOL!!!

First on the Right: Street Food
  • Satisfaction:
  • Two little girls and their father seem to run this place on the corner just past the main section of the goods market/bazaar. They are to the right on the corner, where you'll see a large wok of plov (pilaf) and a lot of samsa. The food's quite good, but even better is the family who runs it.

The two little girls will probably serve you, while the father cooks. There's a table and tea, of course, and it's just a nice place to sit and sweat for a while, watching the locals walk by.

The girls seemed all too happy to pose for a photo... and they're both quite photogenic. I'm not sure the father was too happy about it, but he didn't seem angry or tell us not to. Anyway, if you're in the bazaar in Turpan, definitely go to this place. There are more down the road, but this is, in my mind, the best.
