Italia Mura (Italian Village)
A newly built "Italian Village" near Nagoya port. On first glance it looks quite interesting, it has a canal with real gondola and gondoliers, a statue of David and buildings that are pretty good copies of old style Italian buildings, but looks can be deceiving. This place is made to suck in the local Japanese tourists and empty their wallets. The multitude of stores inside, although quite nice, are overpriced. There is even a small market inside selling foodstuffs imported from Italy. What the average person does not know is that most of these items can be bought at the local grocery store or international store for about half the price. The village is normally free to enter but on some holidays and weekends (not confirmed if its every weekend) the charge an entrance fee for what in reality is a shopping mall masquerading as an Italian Village.

Take photos of the Gondolas and Gondoliers, as well as the statues. It will give you some good shots.

Just go to the nearby aquarium.

Don't bother with the 'Little...
Don't bother with the 'Little World' theme park, unless you would like a laugh. The park was designed so that Japanese Citizens could learn about other cultures, unfortunately it was probably designed by people who have never left the country.

Bic Camera
They work with a point card system. The more you buy, the more discount you get of your next buy. But we compared the prices in several shops around Nagoya and Bic Camera's prices are MUCH higher than certain other shops. The reduction you get on your next buy reduce the prices to the real market-price.

We bought an mp3-player at Bic Camera. The battery never got to recharge. We went back and they gave us a new mp3-player, whose screen never worked. We went again and NOW we have a good one.

Try to be the 100th buyer. Every 100th buyer gets his things for free. No matter how big!

Osu district: Top Camera got me an interesting discount on my digital camera and the Good Will shop in Osu also got me an interesting discount on my brother's mp3 player.
