    Sasebo Shrine
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Shrine is the place where people go to speak with the God's. They first go inside and wash their hands and mouth so they are clean when they speak with the Gods. Then they pay their donation, ring a bell in order to wake them up and make their wish. It's a pretty interesting sight to see if you've never been to a shrine. Definitely worth at least one visit.

This 105 m. high tower is a replica of the tallest church tower in Utrecht, Holland, that was built more than 600 years ago. Visitors can take an elevator to the 80 m. level for a panoramic view of the streets of Huis Ten Bosch and Omura Bay.

    Markets
If you are a serious "foodie", go to the markets in Saki Town. Here is where the real Sasebo is. Pristine vegetables, fruit and fish can be found here along with motherly looking Japanese women who usually work the stands. Great photo ops here!
