Book a couple of days in advance to get the day you want. (We booked Monday for the Wednesday trip which was nearly full). I believe they do them about 5 times a week. If you wish, you can select a bottle of wine from the wine cellar, to enjoy on your sunset cruise. They serve it to you once you are on the boat. Surprisingly we were the only couple enjoying wine on the trip, but I do recommend it - it was lovely sipping on a glass of red watching the sunset. Leave a Comment

We would usually go round to the bar, or sit on the swing not far from our room to watch the sunset because our room (along with the deluxe lagoon villas) are on the sunrise side of the island. Being so near the equator, sunrise and sunset are pretty muc at 6am and 6pm repectively. We'd usually get to the bar about 5 ish to enjoy the company, colours of the sky, and fabulous cocktails. The connection of the ocean with the sun is a miracle of the nature that is to be observed on the Maldives. In the early one can observe the beautiful sunrise, and one believes that the sun comes out from the sea. The whole day the sun shines in the sea and in the evening is swallowed by it. It is a peaceful activity to observe this phenomenon. Leave a Comment

We spent a few days, on the Sun Island, and we were overjoyed. This piece earth is a real recuperation oasis, where one can forget all worries. It lies at the southwest end of the atolls, and it has a length of 1,6 kilometres and a width of almost 400 meters. From the airport Male, to the island is a distance of 107 kilometres. With the speedboat, one can put back this distance in two and half hours and with the seaplane, in 35 minutes. The island was opened for the tourists, in the year 1998, and is one of the biggest and most comfortable tourist’s resorts of Maldives. It lies under the direction of the Villa Hotels chain, and offers to the visitors, 350 elegant rooms, with all the comfort that one need. You can find on the island many restaurants and bars, with a large variety of food and drink. Leave a Comment

On our sunset cruise, we were lucky enough to see a huge school of dolphins - still with sights of the hotel! I assure you I am not exaggerating when I say there were around 100 of them, if not more. Not only did they dive in and out of the water in the usual fashion, they also 'span' in a poirouette style. It was wonderful to see them act like this freely in their own waters. Highly recommended! Everywhere on the island, one can look numerous coconut palms. The green colour of the trees passes very well with the blue of the heaven, the turquoise of the sea and with the white of the sand. The palms offer a pleasant and much refreshing shade. On the northern islands of Maldives was created palm plantations, otherwise the palms grow wildly. On the most islands settled the screw palm (Pandanus). All these coconut palms are very important for the natural equilibrium of the islands. Leave a Comment

A sunset, on the Maldives, is a poem of the sea. Goes to stroll on the hot sand and observes this phenomenon, or simply lies on the beach and admires the numerous paint of the heaven, is your decision. It is wonderful, and the words are not enough. Only with the own eyes, one can see the beauty of the nature. Leave a Comment Address: Sun Island

We were overjoyed as we saw the lovely white shore of the island. The sand is bright white and fine like a powder. The turquoises colour of the sea creates together with the white sand and with the green palms a fairy-tale world. It is a pleasure, to walking or to relax on the shore of the Indian Ocean. Additionally to the sand beach, there are also rocks on the shores of the ocean. There is a place, where are mostly these rocks. Many crabs lie in peace on the wild rocks because the tourists don't like to come here. They prefer the soft sand for the sunbath. Leave a Comment

Most Islands offer night fishing trips in the Maldives. You just get a line with a hook and some bait, tie the other end to your finger, sling it over the side and wait for a tug. Most people caught the small pink snapper fish. I caught a snapper and then I got lucky and the locals had to give me a hand pulling one in. When it flew over the edge it was a bit larger than I was expecting and nearly hit me in the face. It turned out to be a reef fish. Unfortunately for the fish, they get taken back to the island and served up for dinner. I felt a bit bad about this, I think I would have preferred to chuck them back in, but that's only because they were exotic looking fish and I'm used to cod and chips. Leave a Comment
