    Fishing the Indian/Southern Ocean is a great experience. Taking a fishing tour is your best bet because everything is provided. The guides expertise also helps. During my KI fishing trip, I caught all kind of fish including tropicals. I also caught a firey red squid. Our guide showed us a home video of a Great White Shark that circled his boat in the very area we were fishing. Any hotel can arrange a fishing trip.

    D 'Estrees Bay is a good surfing-fishing beach.
    You can walk around the coast from here to Seal Bay and see colonies of New Zealand fur seals and Australian sea lions along the way.
    It is an enjoyable walk but it will take you two days. Be sure to carry along your own water.
