I really like browsing charity shops for books - you never know when you are going to have a great find - but twice I was reeled from this shop with an enormous pile of Must Reads!
I have no idea why they are so great for books.
I also really appreciated the charming little old lady with the fluffy grey hair who served me both times.
Maybe she is the one who keeps prices so low. I have noticed in other charity shops that the books start at $2 these days and even go up as high as $5.
They may also be great for clothes and homewares - the woman ahead of me in the queue was squealing with delight at the price of her teaset - but all I have done so far is dive towards the bookshelves at the back of the shop like a truffle pig.
