The area of the museum includes some country building, each one is dedicated to a different kraft. They have a carpenter ther, a blacksmith, a potter, a cheesmaker, a baker, a weaver. All things are made in a old way, like our ancestors used to make it in the beginning of the last century. You will have an opportunity to watch the process, to try to do something yourself and to taste the results. In the exebition room are displayed traditional costumes, instruments and daily life things. The restaurant will offer you very tipical belarusian dishes, which also have a long history. It is better to spend in Dudutki a whole day, because there is mach to see.

    Belavezhskaya Puscha - the...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Belavezhskaya Puscha - the oldest National Park in Europe. Being a protected area, this territory stands out against the environmental background and has existed in one form or another since the late 14th century. Almost all area of the park is covered with woods, prevailingly coniferous trees. The age of the trees reaches 160-180 years in general, but sometimes you can meet real elders (300 to 500 years old). Animals inhabit the National Park tightly. The most remarcable is european bison ('zubr' in Belarusian). At the main entrance to the park there are a museum, a restaurant, and special hedged areas for wild animals, where visitors can see the inhabitants of Belavezhskaya Puscha.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Niasvizh is a small town 112km south-west of Minsk with population about 16000 people. It is one of the most ancient historical and cultural centers of Belarus, first mentioned in the 13th century. The town reached its highest flourishing when it became the residence of the magnates Radzivil. In fact the most monuments were built during the period of Radzivil government in 16th 17th centuries. The simbols of the town is Radzivil Castle. There are also other notable buildings - Farny Church (16th century), and Slutskaja Brama (Slutsk Gate).

    Boriso-Glebskaya Kalozhskaya...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Boriso-Glebskaya Kalozhskaya Church in Grodno
Kalozhskaya Church- a real of the Belarus orthodox architecture-was built upon the Nioman river bank, not far from an ancient castle. Artistically it retains specific trends of the Greek masters architectural practice, which assumed some local building features and arts traditions. The ceramic filled cross-share insets give it a peculiar appearance which demonstrated not only an effective aesthetic idea but had a strong symbolical sense. All around the interior one can find 'voicers' –vessels embedded into the wall with their openings oriented towards the church interior. That served to significant bettering of acoustic conditions in the church. In the fifteenth century the church was rebuilt in shapes of a fortress-like church, according to that time existed tradition. Further more reconstruction works turned it into a Uniat Church. In the nineteenth century Kalozhskaya church was partially destroyed by landslides

  • Chapel and Family vault of Paskevichy in Gomel
This memorial was designed by Y. Charvinski, an architect, in 1870-1889. The chapel has a square plan section with the composition common to five-cupola hipped- room churches of the seventeen century; its essence - an active implementation in the facade of the ceramic plates with ornamentation after artist S. Sadzikov sketches. The family vault has construction of subterranean tunnel chamber with arched roof. The light comes in through the round sky-light in the upper part of the arch. The chapel and family vault have a typical russian-retrospective architecture.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Here is a little glimpse into our history. The monument is the 'Mount of Glory', dedicated to the victory in the World War II (or Great Patriotic War - the way it is called here)
It was built by people, everyone whose relatives died in the war brought a little bit of soil from their home place, that's how the mount grew.

    Another shot of Mirsky Castle
  • Tip Rating:
  • It includes castle, palace, park and chapel-vault. Mirsky Castle was built from the clay by the Illinichis in the beginning of the 16 centure. From 1568 it belonged to the Radzivills, after- the Vitgenshteins, the Svyatopolk-Mirskys. The plan of the castle is close to the square. By the coners it has five-floor tower and there is a fifth six-floor tower with entrance gates in the middle of the western wall. In front the gates is a bridge and moat. There is a belfry in the tower. On the first floor there is the chapel and in the basement - prison.
