 | Dubrovnik Beaches Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 23 | | The city of Dubrovnik and its beaches on the Riviera as regards bathing, have high quality of the sea according to the EU criteria. My favorite beach is SUNJ on island Lopud (hour away from Dubrovnik)...I recommend that you take a boat there and spend the whole day on a lovely sandy beach with a bar and a restaurant there. Most popular public beaches in the town itself are: BANJE beach extremely well located pebble beach with a beautiful wiev to the Old town. It has it's own reception, restaurant, cafe bar, deck chair and sun umbrellas rentals. LAPAD beach is located in Lapad bay, very close to the Lapad walking Zone and in the near vicinity of 4 hotels, many restaurants, cafe bars, tennis courts, children playgrounds. On the beach itself there is a restaurant and two cafı bars. The beach is equipped with showers and changing cabins, sun umbrellas and deck chairs. This is one of the sandy beaches where you can spend a day enjoying natural tree shade. St. JAKOV beach is located at the eastern part of the Old city, very popular among local people. It's pebble beach with a possibility of renting sun umbrellas and deck chairs. There is also restaurant and cafe bar. Leave a Comment

Sveti Jakov beach is beautiful, it is looking at the old city from the distance. Caution: You have to take many stairs to go down to the beach. I am not sure of any elevators. The beach is across from Island Lokrum and beneath a church of Sv. Jakov (Saint Jakov). Leave a Comment Address: Sveti Jakov BeachDirections: You can take the bus number 8 all the way to it's last stop. The beach is about 15 minutes walk from there, in the direction away from the city.Website: http://web.tzdubrovnik.hr/beaches.shtml

Still on my way walking to the Old Town, I shall call this photo 'The sea in Dubrovnik'. It sums up the colourful water in contrast with the sceneries around Dubrovnik. Okay, if you want to follow my route, walking to the Old Town from the bus station : First go down Put Republike to Ante Starcevica. Then, you just walk along this road, straight till you reach the Pile Gate ! This is the entrance of the Old Town. Maybe about 20 minutes walking. There's a bus of course but I chose not to take them. Leave a Comment Directions: Walking towards the Old Town...

With 30 degrees and stiffling heat we need to look for some place to swim and refresh ..and suddenly we find what we was looking for... a improvised beach just beneath the rampards and alone of the crowded dubrovnik at the same time it was just on the corner where the rampards pass up to rocky dike in fornt of Lokrum island.. it was an amazing place and of course you had to plunge into the water or climb down by rocky steps,..really easy Leave a Comment

You can find just about every type of beach in and around Dubrovnik. Here were my favorites: Rock Beaches: These beaches had large rocks, going directly into fairly deep water. Some had ladders as well. Watch out for sea urchins!! They can ruin a trip LOKRUM: Closest island, cheapest to get to. Great rock beaches with peackocks and nice view of the coast. Ladders as well. OLD TOWN: If you walk along the city walls and look down, you can see people swimming just off the rocks. Unbelievable setting and convenient! Pebble Beaches: Large pebbles, can make for an uncomfortable walk to the water, so beach-friendly sandals are a great bet. NORTH OF DUBROVNIK: We found some great pebble beaches on a drive up the coast, about 20 minutes north (?). One of them had a small bar and restaurant. All were visible from the road. Beautiful, clear water. Kid friendly, no urchins. CITY BEACH: I'm not sure if this is the correct name, but the beach visible from the old town, just south(?) of the walls, is a very family-oriented, LOTS of kids. Too crowded for some but probably good for family's due to its close location. Sandy Beaches: My personal favorite, and probably the typical image conjured by thoughts of a beach vacation. No urchins, no pebbles, just pure (hot!) sand. LOPUD: My favorite beach of all, shallow water for 50m out, pure, clear water, a few fish, Green hills surrounding, chairs and umbrellas for rent as well as a bar with food. When you get to Lopud, go to the opposite side of the island. There are signs to guide you. Great bet for everyone.

I was circling the Babin Kuk area, had a swim for half an hour & decided that i should explore more of Dubrovnik. Took a bus from Dubrovnik President Hotel back to the bus station, the same bus station as where I got off from my night bus from Zagreb. From here, I decided to walk to the Old Town. The next few photos were taken on the road leading to the Old Town. This area is LAPAD area. Name of the road is Ante Starcevica. This stretch of road is overlooking the sea, you have to pass through it. Private heavens (the coves) as I want to call them, the photo on the left. They are scattered all over the beaches of Dubrovnik with beautiful sceneries. Left photo is one of them. Leave a Comment Directions: Walking in the Lapad area, leading to the Old Town...

we wanted to visit one of the islands but could not decide which one to choose, as we only had 4 days in Dubrovnik. We wanted to see Korcula but could not figure out how to get there and back the same day and the excursion left at 8.20 in the morning ( a bit too much for us as we arrived on a night flight really exhausted) did not fancy the 3 island excursion, as it spent only an hour or so on each island so we went and asked a local which island to choose and she said Lopud! so that's what we picked. The island was perfect... quiet,a lovely 30minute walk through pine trees, and then a perfect beach , clean water, white sand and a little restaurant. Heaven! Leave a Comment

After checked-in to the private room, I didn't waste any time in exploring Dubrovnik ! Walking along by the sea was really amazing ! The private room that I stayed in was the middle distance from the sea & the Old Town, what an excellent location. I was walking in the direction to BABIN KUK area. Another cove along the Ante Starcevica road, leading to the Old Town. There's a hotel near this road called Bellevue Hotel. A swank hotel I should say. The weather was hot when I was there. I thought it was so weird 'cos it was by the sea & there's almost no breeze... Leave a Comment Directions: Walking towards the Old Town...
