Crkvenica is very peaceful place with not much to see, but much to enjoy. Crkvenica promenade is probably the nicest part to enjoy in. It is few kilometers long, and it's nice for taking walk very early in the morning, when sun is rising. Leave a Comment Address: SetalisteDirections: Selce area

It was built in 1885 as a city theatre according to the design of the specialised Vienna Helmer and Fellner workshop, which designed similar buildings throughout the Austro-Hungary of the time. The exterior is adorned by figurative compositions of Music and Drama by Venetian sculptor Benvenutti. The opening of the theatre was marked by a performance of Verdi's Aida. In a town which, at the time, was not supplied with electric current, the autonomous system of electric supply installed in the theatre by the Vienna Kremenczky company was a real sensation. On the square in front of the theatre stand the statue of Croatian composer Ivan pl. Zajc and a fountain with a sculpture by D. Džamonja. The theatre today houses the opera, the ballet and Croatian and Italian drama. Also known for some contoversial plays and excentric commissary. Leave a Comment

Product of the Helmer and Fellner workshop, was completed in 1885. Quiet Neo-Renaissance decorations alternate with playful Neo-Baroque ones on its facades. The palace illustrates the ambitions of Rijeka to imitate the Ring of Vienna and to compete with Trieste. Today the building houses the Central City Library and the cultural centre of the Italian minority, the popular Circolo italiano di cultura. Leave a Comment Directions: city center

Rijeka has street called La Guardia. Why? Simple, Fiorello la Guardia lived in the city at the begining of 20th century. Obviously, locals liked him very much and today apart of street name, there is house designated as place where he lived and worked. Leave a Comment Address: Korzo
