 | Heidelberg Nightlife | Tips 1 - 10 of 48 | | Popular Nightlife | Other Nightlife Tips | All Tips (48) This place used to be a train station but has been changed into a large club. All kinds of cultural events are being performed here, music, theatre, cabaret etc. They're especially liked for their latin music nights, live performances of latin music groups when the students of Heidelberg dance through the night.
That depends on what kind of perfomance you're going to, but never too formal. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Am Karlstor 1Directions: Bus 11, 33, 35 or S-Bahn 1 or 2 to Karlstorbahnhof. Be it the middle of winter on the search for a cosy bar, or the craving for an exotic & cold cocktail on a hot summer's day: this place has my thumbs-up! I guess it is best-described as an "upmarket Student cafe and bar." Cocktails can be a bit pricy (the old town is a tourist hotspot, so it's no real surprise) but they are also very potent. I tried a "Forest Gump" cocktail that included fruit juices, various types of rum and some champagne and cost 7,50 Euros... very nice :-) The prices for the "normal" alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and coffees are reasonable. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't have anything to eat here but the menu has some snacks and small dishes that all looked reasonable, and I've heard plenty of good things about this venue.
There is no required dress code. Opening Hours: Sunday to Thursday: 12:00pm to 01:00am. Fridays & Saturdays: 12:00pm to 03:00am. Not a normal Heidelberg nightlife spot! It is quite different to the many pubs you find in the Altstadt. The bar is very trendy and in a modern style. One expect a bar like this to be in Frankfurt or an other big city and not in a student city like Heidelberg. At least that was the impression I got. A good thing was that the public wasn't too young, I guess end of 20 beginning of 30 ...
I guess the nicer the better! I had the impression that people really come to be seen! And you find not the normal "Heidelberg people" But for sure I will never go there if I'm not in a very good mood, otherwise I would fell like the most ugliest woman in the world ... As the name says you get a feeling of being in a small little cafe in France ... at least it is like my cliched imagination of a nice pub in the Provence is. But do not every one of us has his own cliches? Many French speaking people come her and the average age is also higher than in the student pubs of Untere Strasse

This bar in Heidelberg's old town consists of two parts. The front bar is a bit more stylish and louder than the one in the back. I really enjoyed the one in the back. There's old fashioned paintings at the wall but the interieur design is quite modern. A lovely mixture. Great music and lots of people here, too!
People looked rather stylish but come as you are. No need to dress up if you don't want to. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Untere Str. 35, Old TownPhone: +49/6221/27950

A very nice Irish bar (& Hotel) in Heidelberg's main shopping street (Hauptstrasse). I enjoyed this place because it wasn't one of these "Oirish" places. It was not too dressed up, comfortable and they sold Murphy's instead of Guinness!

We ended our pub crawl here at 2.05 in the morning and missed the famous "Vater Rhein Spaghetti" by 5 minutes, they are "only" served until 2 at night. Compared to the rest of Heidelberg's Old Town this place is quite cheap.
Scruffy is ok. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Untere Neckarstr. 20, Old TownPhone: +49/6221/21371

The Karlstorbahnhof has a cinema and a theater as well as a restaurant. Check out the programm on the web side. It offers a great variaty, different live concerts (i.e. Jazz Festivals, latino dance parties ...), theaters and many more. The cinema shows only films which are not mainstream. The films are in original with subtitles. The cinema has also festivals with special topics.

The Untere Strasse is a street in the old part of the town. It is a parallel to the Haupt Str. (the main road in the old city). Here you find many bars and cafes (Reichsapfel, Grosser & Kleiner Mohr ...). I am sure there's a place you will like :-))) Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Untere Str.Directions: right besides the old church and the market place
