 | Norfolk (County) Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 18 | | Popular Restaurants | Other Restaurants Tips | All Tips (18) This pub is set in a delightful setting and is very popular, with a menu to suit all. Sunday carvery is at this present time £6:25 Set right on the water front complete with moorings, nearby is a swimming pool complete with showers for those who don't have them on their boat.a small store nearby for those essentials. We have spent hours here in the past, driving there by car and having Sunday lunch.
Sunday carvery and Breakfast are my favorites here. Starting with breakfast ,you can have a choice of what sort of breakfast you want, cereals or fried. Sunday Lunch normally consists of Beef,or turkey, lamb with veg fried and boiled potatoes complete with gravy, yum yum. Basic, but Excellent very good value for money. The selection was simple but everything was very fresh and well cooked. Leave a Comment

The location of this Pub couldn't be better, with its own Beer garden and moorings is the perfect place to visit during the day, either moor up and watch the world go by or drive to the pub by road and sit in the garden and watch the boats. They serve good food here at reasonable prices usual price for a meal £6:25. Its also located next to the Reedham Railway Swing Bridge, which is a working railway . it will open for larger boats to pass. call up on channel VHF14 marine band to speak to the bridge. Word of warning : Dont moor up here at night if you can help it. see warnings.
Chicken or beef curry, its not over hot and not too spicy and you get a large plate full, cooked to perfection. They also do the usual Sunday Roasts, steaks etc. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalComparison: about averageAddress: Nr Reedham Swing Bridge(reedham Village)Phone: 01493 700287Directions: whether driving or boating head for the swing bridge, you cant miss it.

When visiting such a typically British seaside town, there is only one meal that is suitable for the occasion – Fish ‘n Chips – with mushy peas of course!! This restaurant did not disappoint! Eat in or take-away. NOT cheap mind you, but exactly what we’d hoped to find!
Although mainly a fish restaurant, there is also a varied selection that one would expect to see on the menu such as sausages, burgers and even pizza. Their informative website says it all really! But from my personal experience I can highly reccommend eating here. Friendly, clean & 'different'. They also have accommodation, but I didn't use this. A great garden for the summer time, with a well maintained childrens area with climbing frame, swings etc. If you have to take them, a great idea is to eat in the garden and work your way through the food & drinks menu while the kids happily keep themselves amused - hic!!
We had a meal from the barbecue - the accompanying salads were excellent - I particularly enjoyed the couscous with orange, chickpeas & tarragon! All the food is fresh & imaginatively prepared & presented. The potato wedges were a gastronomical delight!! None of your small, mass produced efforts either! Make sure you leave room for a dessert - an excellent choice awaits - (the full menu is on the website!) I only had a drink here & didn't get the chance to try the food this time. The menu looked inviting with dishes that were fairly unusual & refreshingly off the norm for pub food. There seems to be a lot going on at this pub - take a look at the website! As it was a sunny afternoon we sat in the garden - a suntrap paved area sheltered from the sea breeze with plenty of comfortable seating, though it was a bit difficult to get seats as it was so busy, obviously a very popular place! The weather helped of course, as did the fact there was a 'beer festival' complete with a marquis serving around 24 different beers & the pub food! The atmosphere was friendly & relaxing & children seemed welcome too (baby changing facilities in the toilets is always a good sign of this!) Staff were helpful & friendly. Apart from the loos, I didn't see much of the inside of this place - it seemed quite vast! I would definitely come here again & hopefully to eat next time. Their excellent website shows the menu in full & loads more info too! This restaurant in a pub with rooms "the food is what we're all about" is in the middle of the Norfolk countryside, quite difficult to find but well worth the effort as the food is excellent. The ambience is a little "Basil Fawlty" at times but that's part of the charm. Very relaxed, well supported by locals and off the usual tourist routes. It is advisable to book, always for Sunday lunch (ribs of beef plus other choices), usually in the evening, lunchtimes you might just risk turning up. Lunch is from 12.30 p.m. dinner from 7.15 p.m. The food is not the cheapest around but they do offer a special two course lunch for £8.
The menu at the Saracen's Head is always different - reflecting the use of local and seasonal produce. The creme brulee is the best I've had in UK, about 8.5/10 which is pretty good! We have watched Byfords grow and develop over our time visiting Norfolk, visited many times and always enjoyed it. Our most recent visit was July 2006 and again we had a lovely meal - "elevenses" on this occasion. Byfords has grown from a bakery serving coffee to a rather up market (but not stuffy) cafe with a deli attached and the option of bed and breakfast and various evening programmes of meals and entertainment. The rooms are a maze spreading from the pavement tables and chairs through a conservatory to the garden and the old beams (possibly 15th century) and original building mix well with the new. The food quality is excellent and the choice is impressive. Go for elevenses, buy your picnic goodies in the deli and head to the north Norfolk coast and then return for a candlelit evening meal. Open 9.00 a.m. - 9.30 p.m. daily except Sunday when the hours are 10.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m.
You have to try the treacle tart with a nut topping - delicious, and very filling and the blackcurrant smoothie is wonderful.
