    Pike fishing on the broads.
    Pike can be found pretty much anywhere on the broads and there are some monsters to be caught.
    The main area for the big pike is Hickling and Brundel, anything up to 40lb is not uncommon.
    The pike featured was caught in the Beccles area approx 1mile downstream towards Geldeston Lock.

    Proper pike gear is recommended with breaking strain line at least 20lb with wire trace.
    Methods vary from live bait to plugs.
    The fish featured was caught on a jointed Rapala (Blue) approx 8" long

    Fishing at Reedham Village can be hit and miss depending on the water state?
    If there has been a lot of water or big tides the salt water will travel up yo Reedham ,so the fish move further upstream well beyond Reedham ferry.
    There is always plenty of eels,but i have caught some good quality Roach and the odd pike.

    Dont even bother with Float fishing unless its slack tide,best to fish ledger on the bottom with a couple of maggots,quiver tip fishing will bring the best results ,the tide can get strong here,but ive never fished heavy.
    My particular method is to use a drilled bullet lead,line directly through with a 2 foot leader just using the mainline 3lb and a shot as a stop for the lead the more basic it is the better,no need for fancy bits here.size 16 hook with two maggots ,loose feed and your away.

    Four winds accommodation has its own river frontage for mooring and fishing,with it being secluded and on of the last bungalows this side of the river offers superb fishing for Bream,Roach,perch and Tench.

    You really need to hire a day boat for the week for this property as it is 1mile from the road bridge to the location.
    I found the best bait was maggots either ledgered or float fished (stick float) style depending on the tide.
    The tide does not run too strong on this stretch of the river.

    At the Muckleburgh collection you can have a lesson in a 16 tonne Abbot SPG tank! This really is awesome, and I fulfilled a lifelong ambition in driving a tank at Easter 2005.

    The instructor sits on the 'bonnet' of the tank behind you and will shout out instructions - if you can hear him over the roar of the engine - as you go along a specially contructed course which takes you over little mounds, into puddles and sliding around in mud!

    F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You are provided with a boiler suit to protect your clothing (which is necessary as there are many sharp bits on a tank) and of course a tank.

    Just bring a sense of adventure and I guarantee you will go home with the biggest smile of the week!

    At the opposite end of the scale - there are lots of opportunities for bird wathcing in Norfolk. The area teems with shore birds and sea birds - we also saw several birds of prey, pheasants, woodpecker, oystercatcher and others.
