We often hire a boat for the day,its so relaxing and there is so much to see and enjoy. Allow plenty of time its no good hiring a boat for an hour, you wont see much and you will be in too much of a hurry. take a picnic with you and fold up chairs and go to one of the many broads to relax. Once you have tried it you will wonder why you had not done it sooner. Life jackets are provided. Leave a Comment

Nothing , just watch the world go by. This is one of my favorite places to go for peace and quite, but to do it properly you will need a tender. Moor anywhere in the middle of the broad with your mud anchor,no need to worry about the tide? just relax ,the boat go go round in circles but you wont notice the movement, then row across to the moorings slipway and go in the pub for a meal, but not too many of the falling down stuff you've got to row back yet. the only time to be careful is if its windy? your mud anchor might drag. A peaceful night should be guaranteed, apart from calls from the Coots and Moorhens. Leave a Comment

Henry Blogg– the most famous lifeboatman of all was coxwain from 1909 to 1947. He received the gold medal three times, the silver medal four times the George Cross, and the British Empire Medal. Henry Blogg died in 1954 but his name is known throughout the world. A commemorative bronze bust gazes out to sea from North Lodge Park not far from the old lifeboat house, which is now a museum. The current pier is the third structure to have graced the resort's shoreline, the other two being little more than wooden jetties. Currently Cromer Pier continues very much as it would have done in its heyday, offering visitors the opportunity to promenade, frequent the pavilion offering traditional summer season shows or Sunday concerts, or simply enjoy a bit of fishing from the pier-head. The paved area to the front of the pier is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, and as my picture shows, it was l looking very smart, and almost completed! Leave a Comment

Seaweeds are marine algae, saltwater dwelling, simple organisms that fall into the rather outdated general category of plants (not my description!) Apparently there are nearly 10,000 species. Well here is one of them to be found in Cromer, Norfolk! I just thought it was intriguing and strange as it clung in huge clumps to the wooden posts along the groynes in the sea. Not sure if this particular type is edible, but I’m sure someone has probably already tried it! Leave a Comment Address: In the sea!

Not as safe for swimming as its neighbours, but still an amazing expanse of soft sand and shingle. Dominated by the view of the pier, Cromer beach is a great place to walk or spend a while relaxing. Leave a Comment
