 | Scarborough Tourist Traps | Tips 1 - 3 of 3 | | Popular Tourist Traps | Other Tourist Traps Tips | All Tips (3) Terror Towers is on the South Bay, among all the amusement arcades. It's a kind of haunted house that you walk round, but it's really, really bad - not remotely scary, and really quick to go round so although it's not really expensive, it certainly isn't value for money. Maybe if you are around 10 you might like it, but otherwise, give it a wide berth.
Just don't go!
Because it takes so little time and is completely fear-free, you'd be better off spending the money on something else. If it's rainy and you are looking for something to do, go into one of the amusement arcades instead - there's one next door - convert a pound into 2p pieces and go on the 'tuppenny nudgers'... it's cheap and more fun than you might expect! The south beach is probably the busiest and is where you will find all the amusements and shops - it is heaving!
You would be better to head to the north beach which is slightly quieter. Parking is not great for either beach - there is no parking during high season on the foreshore road, south beach only a small amount at the peir and parking for north beach is along the marine drive but gets very busy Go to the south beach later in the evening for a stroll along the foreshore and a flutter in the arcades.
If you want a quieter beach altogether head south towards cayton bay or hunmanby gap - although here you will have a trek down the cliff so if you have limited mobility stick to the north bay.
