 | Nottingham Shopping | Tips 1 - 10 of 14 | | Popular Shopping | Other Shopping Tips | All Tips (14) Victoria Centre has over 120 shops all under the one roof which makes it great for a shopping spree. It got its name Victoria as it used to be an old train station called Victoria Station, as you can see on the photo, the Victoria clock tower is still there & is the only remaining piece of the station left. It includes shops such as House of Fraser, John Lewis, Next, Topshop, Disney Store etc. There are lots of cafes & restaurants in Vic Centre aswell as a couple of gorgeous Cookie stores & these taste great. Make sure you try them out. Victoria Centre is open 7 days a week with late night shopping on a wednesday. During Christmas time there are lots of beautiful decorations around Victoria Centre & it really gets you in the mood for Christmas. Children can also go & see Santa's Grotto here & receive a small gift aswell as a photo with Santa..... i take my little Sister Charlotte every year. You can get to Victoria Centre either by Car or Public transport. Car parking prices vary depending on how long you leave your car for, prices start from £2.50 for 2 hours parking & £1.00 for every extra hour. Public transport prices vary depending on where you travel from, you can either get a local bus or the local tram system which runs throughout the main centre of Nottingham.
Make sure you try out the Hot Mushy Peas with Mint Sauce at the Fish Market upstairs at Victoria Centre, these are absolutely delicious. I always buy a pot when im out shopping. There are many things you can buy in Victoria Centre from ladies clothing to mens clothing, jewellery, perfumes, cosmetics, gifts, lingerie, shoes, food & confectionary. Check out the website below for a list of different stores which are located in Victoria Centre.
As little or as much as you like.... you will find that the cost of living in England is not as cheap as most Countries. So if your visiting here be prepared to spend more than usual.

I used to pop in here every once in a while when I lived in Nottingham and it's a treasure trove! You see things you see in all the design books and glossy magazines. They have a good website where you can browse through some of the objects they have. They even sell Danish Clogs! Open- Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm

Whilst I was at University the owner came to give us a talk on how he set up his business, from trawling the car boot sales and filling up his own house with design objects to opening his first shop, there are now three of them in Nottingham. There are at least 13 "charity shops" (what North Americans would call a second-hand store) in Newark. Oxfam, women's charity, etc. In a small town, several women will work there part time. You can usually find good buys with less hassle than a department store (which Newark doesn't have, anyway.)
Clothing, mostly.
Charity shops are very cheap, about the same prices as North America Leave a Comment Theme: Discount StoreAddress: all around the main squareDirections: check in back alleys!

This is a tiny shop selling second hand vinyl and c.d's. It's shelves are packed to the ceiling and you'll have to spend a long time searching through stuff but your bound to find a couple of (cheap) gems.
Second hand shops are great for a bargain and some countries, Spain for example, don't have many of them.
