It is possible to get from Coventry to Warwick by train but I stayed at the University there, which is far from the railway station so thought a bus would be much more convenient. I chose Stagecoach which went all the way to Stratford, or Oxford even, got a return ticket to Warwick, where I was going to spend the whole day at the wonderful Castle. I enjoyed myself enormously but had not forgotten my last bus back was about 7 pm. I arrived at the bus stop well ahead of time and waited and waited. The bus never came. It was Saturday evening, no one around to ask, but the notice at the bus stop said clearly it should have stopped there at the appointed hour. I was at a loss what to do. Luckily, I saw a man plastering posters on the wall opposite. He was so kind as to give me a lift as far as Leamington Spa, where I could take another bus. But I had to wait till he finished his work. In the meantime I was lucky to watch a wonderful show of enormous colourful balloons floating in the distance. I was back on campus late at night but I was glad to get back there at all. Many thanks to my benefactor. No thanks to Stagecoach. They are still running their services there. Beware! When you travel in or around Coventry to places nearby like Royal Leamington Spa or Kenilworth it seems reasonable to get a return ticket. If you do so, you may be in for trouble. The point is that there are a few bus companies operating in that area and each has its own tickets which are not valid for the other buses following the same routes. So, if you don't want to pay for the same trip twice, you may sometimes have to spend a long time at the bus stop before the bus you have got a ticket for arrives. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Best to drive there. If you have nothing much to do after a while, still have a car to get away to other nearby towns. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Drive through if you have a car. Don't make a special trip by train or bus, 'cause there really isn't much here. Just stop by if you have an hour to kill. Go east from London, toward the coast. You'll see the signs. Walk if you wish, but there isn't much to see. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

If aboad then plane but if I local again I would say train however if you have a car I would advise that as it saves you getting taxi's or buses. To get around as it's quite a big place I would really advise you to take your own car however if this is not possible then walk and get a taxi. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Being in the centre of England the city has excellent transport links. Junctions 2 & 3 of the M6 are just a few minutes' drive from the city centre and the M1, M5, M40 and M42 are also nearby. Coventry is also on the main north - south railway line from Scotland to London and the south coast. If you're coming direct from another country, Birmingham International is a first class airport with a frequent bus link to the railway station, which is only seconds away. The train will then take just 15 minutes to get you to the centre of Coventry. Buses are relatively cheap run regularly and to most areas of the city. However they stop at 11pm except for special events....like New Year's Eve. If you're planning a late night or don't fancy using the buses there are plenty of taxis around to take you where you need to go. The meters start at £2. All Coventry's taxis / private hire cars have to be registered. Black cabs have yellow plaques by the rear number plate and private hire cars have the plaques and yellow stickers on the doors. You can stop a black cab in the street and get in, but private hire cars must be booked in advance - they shouldn't pick you up if they happen to be driving past - even if you're trying to flag it down! Take a car. You will need one to get to most of the places roundabout that are worth visiting. The whole area is criss-crossed with roads and motorways and you can get to most places pretty quickly. Car Theme: Car/Motor Home
