 | Belfast Weather Reviews | 1 - 3 of 3 | | Oh come on, you're coming to ireland!! Expect lots of rain , sure thats why its so green! More often than not, if you bring an umbrella it WONT rain, so be safe. If you're going up the north coast make sure to bring an all weather rain coat-type-thing as you may get soaked up there! All good fun though.

As with everywhere on the island of Ireland, you are best prepared it you wear layers of clothes. This might sound like you need to pack a lot of clothes but if you coordinate your colours carefully (or just don't care!) you can get away with packing just a few items. There are plenty of shops in Belfast to buy extra layers in if you find yourself freezing. If you have bought too much and need an extra bag, try Primark on Royal Avenue for a cheap bag. For winter time (and only the very brave visit Belfast in winter!) a poloneck/turtleneck or other long sleeved top under a sweater with a heavy (waterproof) jacket is best. Don't bother bringing an umbrella - the fierce gales here will have it demolished in minutes! Bring a wooly hat and gloves, wooly socks and comfortable (waterproof) shoes. Temperatures rarely drop below freezing but if the wind is howling from Siberia, you will know all about it.
For spring and autumn, the same thing will do but maybe add a t-shirt in case it warms up a bit. We quite often get a sort of 'false spring' in February where it will feel like a lovley sunny day and then will suddenly be winter again. Summer, well, our summers are not really what most people think of summer weather! It can get up to 25C but mostly it will be around 15 - 18C. It may not rain a lot but it can be cloudy and gloomy a lot of the time. Again, layers are best - try a t-shirt, light sweater and light waterproof jacket. I think it is always best to bring 2 pairs of shoes on a holiday so your feet don't get too tired. It is a good idea to do that here so that one pair can dry while you wear the other pair.
You don't need to pack any toiletries or medical supplies as there are plenty of shops around that sell them. Try Superdrug on Ann Street in the city centre for cheap items. Leave a Comment
