Imagine the noise this fellow created
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Fog Horn was built in 1902 by the Northern Lighthouse Board to guide generations of mariners safely into port the motto of the Board is "In Salutem Omnium" ("For the safety if all") I can only imagine the local residents delight when the fog horn was replaced by more modern technology & finally finished wailing in 1991.

  • Tip Rating:
  • The Royal National Lifeboat Institution usually known as RNLI have been saving lives at sea around Fraserburgh for 200 years. All crew members are volunteers who are always ready to launch their lifeboat when anyone is in trouble at sea. Donations for their work are always appreciated or buy online from their shop www.rnli.org.uk/shop

    Fraserburgh has many Churches
  • Tip Rating:
  • On our last visit to Fraserburgh we hoped to go up to the top of the lighthouse to take some pictures of the town itself. Unfortunately it was closing on our arrival, so only managed to capture one church spire from the harbour. For such a little town, Fraserburgh has a lot of Churches.

    Field Teachers Work Here
  • Tip Rating:
  • The RSPB provide Field Teachers either for class visits or visits to the centre which include pond dipping, bird spotting and animal & bird habitats. We went on our own to safeguard the quiet sign!!

    Running the Gauntlet
On an extremely windy day, venture down to the breakwater and instead of oooing and aaaing as the waves crash over, sometimes up to 100 ft, try running, with friends, towards the lighthouse/beacon at the end and back and the winner is whoever is the driest!
