Tasty and authentic tapas, and with Spanish staff, making it feel more like Spain and less like rainy Inverness! In a land of Indian Restaurants, Fish & Chip Shops and Chinese take-aways, its such a relief to find diffent food - worth patronising for that reason alone! Other Contact:

The Mustard Seed is french influenced cooking of a standard higher than average in this part of the world. Its trying, and kind of gets there - its certainly popular with gourmet fans and pretentious locals, who want to eat at the best, even if their taste buds are stunted. I suspect the food could be better, if the customers could taste it.
The ambiance is good, light and spacious, bright and with crisp clean staff, the first impression is "am I dressed for this", but it soon starts to lose this polished appearance. Behind the scenes its another inverness restaurant. The menu looks very tempting but the served meals were then disappointing, with excessive use of strong flavours, like neat Pesto, smothering delicate fish. So, good on looks, but disappointing on delivery. But interesting enough to give another chance. Deserves to succeed - I hope - but be prepared to criticise. Have a look. Leave a Comment

This little breakfast restaurant offers good food at affordable prices. Yummy pancakes of all varieties can be had for cheap, as can eggs and bacon cooked to your liking. The Pancake Place is more than just pancakes, offering burgers, paninis, and pasta, as well as jacket potatoes. It is open 7 days a week.
We were pretty much broke by the time we got to Inverness, so we became experts at sniffing out deals and often got a special that was on in the mornings at the Pancake Place. It came with, if I remember correctly, a big pancake, an egg, bacon, and toast, and only cost a couple quid. It was scrumptious and hot on those cold mornings. Leave a Comment

Jimmy Chungs is not really too noticeable from the outside, to be honest... the only indication that it exists iss a ssign outside advertising its menu. Once inside though, you'll be suprised at the size of it. (I sure was!) The service is excellent, and though the views aren't spectacular, you somehow find yourself too busy staring at the variety of food in front of you to care...
Well, myself and my mates head there for lunch every time we're in Inverness. They serve only a buffet, all day, every day, and the variety is excellent. 3 differnet types of noodles, almost every kind of Chinese Meat dish you can think of, vege dishes, spring rolls... oh, and about 4 different desserts, if you still got space! I never do... Spice Malabar, located in the heart of Inverness, is really a take-out joint, but there are a few places to sit inside if you want to eat there. The food is fantastic, the portions are generous and affordable, and the people are great. I didn't like Indian food near as much as I do now before we went to this restaraunt - now I'm addicted!
WITHOUT A DOUBT the one to try is the Spiced Tandoori Mango Delight - sweet and spicy work well together in this Korma-style chicken dish. I can't rave enough about this fantastic treat. Get some pilao rice and mix the two together for the most scrumptious dish you may EVER eat. Lobster is my favorite food in the world, but this is a close second! Unlike most of the crusty and boring pubs that we seem to have here in Canada, the pubs in Scotland are truly great places to eat and drink. Although there are some sketchy places, most of the pubs I visited were clean, served fresh food, and had decent prices. Blackfriars Pub stands out among all others because of their menu. It is extensive and there are unique and different options at every price level. Make sure to check out the blackboard inside the pub which lists the specials. Often, these consist of seasonal specialties and are the freshest dishes around.
It's all good. Leave a Comment

This cafe was a bit unusual [ well for us Aussies anyway ] in that they had a smoking section!
I bought a sausage roll which was very good and a scotch pie which was not so good. Leave a Comment Theme: BakeryPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Not sureDirections: Main shopping district

Sunday lunchtime in January. Town's dead. This is a chain restaurant, so expected the worst. BUT it was excellent - food and service.
