Tasty Indian with a strong Parsee influence. This place is very elegant but not too badly priced and it does have several quite good meal deals e.g the evening theatre menu and the lunch menu. A high standard of service and really nice coffee and Elizabeth Arden chocolates. They can let you take away the doggie bag
channa chat a chickpea in a rich red sauce and it tasted delicious and not too spicy. The waiter captain was very helpful and took time to explain themenu to those of us who had not been in this kind of restaurant. If you like seafood / sushi you will need to go to Glasgow to visit OKO.
Go early evening, when they are doing an "eat as much as you can" buffet - for economy, but otherwise its not cheap. Fish for Sushi is expensive because its special - thankfully! May not be the best world Sushi but in Scotland its important. Leave a Comment

Another Wetherspoons pub located in an old bank building on Georges Square. If your a food snob or you want "authentic Scottish food or nothing" then its probably not your cup of tea but if you are looking for some simple but delicious pub grub at reasonable prices then its the perfect place. Me and my friend usually end up here when we're in town shopping Its one of those places where you pick your table then order your food at the bar and they have a fairly large menu. There are also special deals to be had and drink is cheap.
My current fave dish is the 5 bean Chilli but I also am partial to the Chicken Pasta Alfredo and if I'm REALLY hungry then a bacon and cheese burger! Leave a Comment Theme: Pub/BreweryPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: George Square

Don't be fooled by the bustling location, once you enter the Tea Art Studio you will be transported to a Himalayan mountain top! This is a fantastic Chinese tea studio, with all the ceremony that goes with it. You think you know how to pour a cup of tea? Think again! Thankfully, when your tea arrives the staff will happily give you a tutorial on what to do with all the bits and pieces - its a lot of fun and a relaxing way to spend a lazy afternoon. The cafe is all about tea, but also has a great and ever expanding menu of snacks and light meals, like delicious sushi and miso soup. Go once and you'll be hooked, I promise!
Has to be the prawn sushi, its really filling and the secret recipe salad dressing is to die for. Hidden in the depths of the West End is a teahouse (inspired by the cajovny in the Czech Republic) which offers over 80 kinds of teas from many different countries such as India, China, Japan, Nepal, Turkey, Russia, Vietnam and Iran. If you're hungry, you can choose from a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and sweet or savoury snacks from simple cheese and biscuits and cakes to turkish delight and baklava. If smoking fruit tobacco appeals, you can hire a shisha (a North African tradition). If you're with friends there are various games you can play for free, or if you're alone there's a selection of books (or you can bring your own, to sit and relax). In nice weather you can sit in the garden, but inside is more atmospheric, arranged in sections for groups of people (though when it's busy, you may need to share tables). My favourite bit is the Zen Room, a raised area at the back where you can stretch out on the cushions provided, or sit cross-legged. There's often live music in the evenings, and since it's close to Glasgow University there are a lot of students (though the clientele is quite international). The only bad point is the slow service (everything is made to order)... but you don't want to come here when you're in a hurry anyway. This is a place to relax, unwind and savour.
The menu is constantly being updated, but recently I tried the yellow split pea casserole which was wonderfully tasty, and I ALWAYS have a portion of baklava, I love the stuff (good if you have a sweet tooth). I've eaten Thai Curry in the past, which I'd also recommend. As for tea, I've tried many but a recent favourite is Yogi Yogi Chai. All the teas come with descriptions, so it's easy to pick one to suit your fancy.
