As you can see on the picture this street is always crowded!!!. Also in Glasgow you will find a few more huge shopping centres and department stores, see my shopping tips for more information for shopping in Glasgow. Leave a Comment

Rather than wearing your legs away tramping about the city here`s a suggestion to help you relax. The bookshops Borders and Waterstones are ideal for passing some quiet time. Borders is in Buchanan Street and has a Starbucks coffee shop on the first floor while Waterstones has a Costa coffee in the basement beside the children`s books. Both shops are open later than the surrounding shops. And relax! Leave a Comment

Glasgow is a great place to go shopping. With three largely pedestrianised areas - Sauchiehall St, Argyle St and Buchanan St - Glasgow houses some of the trendiest shops. From cheap and cheerful to downright expensive, there is something for everyone's budget...and even if you are broke, it is worth having a little peek in the windows! I actually went shopping today, first time in a while...stuck it all on my visa card! My favourite place to go shopping has to be the St Enoch centre which is just off of Argyle St. A shop in there, called TK Maxx, is great, it provides designer clothes at a discount, and it is huge!! If you want to try shopping away from the city centre then Braehead is for you. Head toward Renfrew and Braehead will be there on the edge of the city. There are plenty of places to eat and an ice rink too. Xscape is right beside Braehead, has better restaurants and a multi screen cinema. Xscape also has activities for the keen. There is Sno! Where you can ski, toboggan and ice slide. Pre book at www.snozoneuk.com Also at Xscape (the spelling is dreadful in this place!) a climbing wall, aerial assault course, adventure golf and soccer circus. This is the place for bored teenagers! Most of the stores are located on Buchanan St, near to George Square. There's no must-sees and with a 18% sales tax, there's no great buys either. Leave a Comment

Anyone who knows me well, knows that one of my favourite pastimes is shopping! And Glasgow really is a great place to shop. Its second only to London in the UK for shopping. The main shopping streets in the centre of the city are Sauchiehall St, Buchanan St (pictured) & Argyle St and there are also a few shopping centres such as the St Enoch Centre, the new Buchanan Galleries, Sauchiehall Centre, Princes Square as well as the Braehead Shopping Centre [Largest in Scotland, 2nd largest in the UK] on the south side of the river.
