Golden Ears Park is this huge mountainous provincial park (which means it's funded by the province) ... and most of it you can't access by car. Alouette Lake however, can be accessed by car. It's a gorgeous lake about a 20 minute drive from the main gates. We were there in April so it was still too cold to swim, but families were enjoying themselves along the beach, people were having BBQ's and a few people were even sunbathing! Leave a Comment

Make sure to visit the North Beach area of Alouette Lake. Walk along Gold Creek from the Gold Creek parking lot to get to the North Beach area. Over here you get some great views over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Go for a walk on this beach, enjoy the beautiful views, or just relax on the beach. Leave a Comment

The walk along Gold Creek to the North Beach area of Alouette Lake is a must! You will see how green this creek is where the water is more stagnant...absolutely stunning! And the views are very beautiful too!!! In the summer you can sit on the rocks and bath in this cool water.
A great walk that I always enjoy when I go there. The views are stunning, the water for the creek so green and the lake is so lovely! Make sure to pick up a folder with the hiking trails and maps at the entrance of the park. From Alouette Lake you follow the road to the Gold Creek Parking. You pass the campgrounds and then you have to follow a gravel road for a few km and over a little bridge to end up at this parking lot. Leave a Comment

When you visit Golden Ears Provincial Park there is no doubt that you will be stopping at Aloutte Lake. This lake is the main attraction in this park, especially in the summer. This lake is suitable for swimming, kayaking/canoeing, sun bathing, picnicking and so much more. It can be quite busy in the summer as lots of people come to swim and enjoy the picnic sites along the lake. There are 2 campgrounds close to this lake.
We went a few times to this lake and found it more attractive in the spring or in the fall. There is hardly anybody there and the scenery is beautiful. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. In the summer it's busy with picnickers, sun bathers, swimmers and many campers. But that has its charm too! Leave a Comment
