Popular General Tips | Other General Tips Tips | All Tips (3) I was in Kamloops with a friend, staying in a youth hostel. We both are Canadian, and we were astonished when we saw a sign in the hostel warning visitors not to drink the water without boiling it first.
It isn't something very bad, but it certainly was unexpected on my part, so be prepared if you're in Kamloopsl

This tip is in response to another general tip where a visitor stayed at the hostela dn was disturbed about being advised to boil the water. In the past every spring Kamloops had a water turbidity problem-arising from sediment overflowing into the drinking water-thus boiling your water. Kamloops has since built a state of the art water infiltration plant, one of a kind the north america and thus turbidity is no loinger a problem.If you want to tour the facility, interesting it is, call the city to see if you can arrange a tour group or tag along with one. Another side note, the hostel, inthe past located in the oldcourthouse, has closed. There is presently no hostelin town for travellers. There is a mens Christian hostel but it is for street people needing a place to stay.
