    Kimberley Townsite
It is British Columbia's highest town (1117m) and a Bavarian village. If nothing else, you can leave Kimberley in the knowledge that you have seen the "World's Biggest Cuckoo Clock.

Apart from the clock, and a small museum upstairs in the library down the road, other minor local sights include the Sullivan Mine, pre-Bavarian Kimberley's main employer and one of the world's biggest lead and zinc mines, which is occasionally open to tourists in the summer (ask at the infocentre).

Kimberley - Bavarian City Mining Railway
Take a nine kilometre (seven mile) long ride on the Bavarian City Mining Railway through switchbacks, and up steep slopes and sharp curves, as it winds through the narrow valley of Mark Creek. The railway links the downtown of Kimberley with the site of the old Sullivan Mine surface facilities.

The history of the Sullivan Mine, and the importance of mining in general , are to be preserved in Sullivan Mine Interpretive Centre.

    Fort Steele
The origins of Fort Steele can be traced back to the small settlement of Galbraith’s Ferry born during the 1864 Kootenay Gold Rush. Today, over 60 restored and reconstructed homes and buildings are waiting to take visitors back to yesteryear.

Living history street dramas, live professional musical comedies at the theatre, steam train rides and horse-drawn wagon rides are just part of the excitement of spending time at Fort Steele. Guided and self-guided tours of the townsite are available.
