We went to Nanaimo to visit a friend, and found out he had unexpectedly gone to Mexico! Somewhat at a loss, we stopped by the lounge at the Tallyho motel to have a drink and decide what to do. They had comedy scheduled that night, so we checked it out. It was very fun, and we ended up staying there that night. It made a not-so-great situation very enjoyable. 70below is one of the best nightclubs I have had the luck of visiting.
The atmosphere is fabulous, the music is always wonderful and they ALWAYS play your requests if they have it. Guaranteed to make friends, even if you only go out for one night (though I couldn't keep away.)
Well worth a visit, and if you're into alternative, they run a fetish night every month or thereabouts! It's a very great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming to all.
All and anything goes unless it's a 'themed' night in which case, no street-wear is allowed. Theme: NightclubAddress: 70 Below, Nanaimo, along the front road...Directions: Along the main front road just. Kind of hard to spot from the street. Main entrance up the road inland though back entrance on front side is often open.
