Natacha performed a diverse combination of new and classic material, with occasional songs in English or French, but the great majority in her trademark Arabic warbles...! Richards on Richards is a venerable Vancouver venue, a bar and nightclub dedicated to providing the highest quality music entertainment from around the world. This is one of the most popular nightclubs in Vancouver. It's more of an upscale club with a unique blend of concert events and feature nights. The sound and light is great, there are 2 levels, a huge dansfloor, 4 different bars, a gourmet kitchen and very nice staff.

Richards on Richards is the Best Concert Venue Ever...
... however, it can also be a really lame dance club, it just depends on what time of the night you're there. Generally they'll be open early on in the evening for a live band. Sometimes the live bands play all night, but occasionally they'll kick out the band early so that the venue can turn into a cheesy nightclub where people line-up outside and bribe the bouncers to get in.
While I wouldn't go out of my way to club here, I'd certainly spend the cash to check out a live show here, because this is simply the best venue there is in the city for a show. It's small enough to feel intimate, and the interior is set up in such a way that you always have a fantatic vantage point of the stage. Not only that, but usually they have pretty well-known bands and DJ's playing here, and if you can manage to see a band that you truly love here, you'll never forget the experience!
Since 2001, I've been able to see Franz Ferdinand, Peaches, Ima Robot, The Walkmen, Iron & Wine, Pedro the Lion, Turin Brakes, Kinnie Starr, the Decemberists, Stars, Cooper Temple Clause, Ours, among other great bands at Richards on Richards.
The venue is the perfect size: one main dance floor and stage, a balcony with seats overlooking to the stage, and several tables located down below along the walls. There are several bars in this venue, with fast bartending and waitressing service.
This is the kind of venue where, chances are, the musicians will be mingling with the audience prior to their show... or if you stick around afterwards, they'll probably pop out and walk around. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. Great for a small concert venue.

Lots of Dance Clubs and Sports Bars & Grills to go to during the evenings. Check out Richard's on Richards for some black music on Friday nights. You've got two bars and a huge dance floor in the middle. It can get pretty crowded and smokey. Check out VT's unigirl's page for other night life spots.
Clubs: Vancouver seems to have bred the most beautiful girls in Canada. Many girls know how to dress to emphasize their 'qualities'. Dress lightly, but within reason, please - I've seen some really indecent hoochie-mamas at clubs!Vancouver guys may be boring, but they do know how to dress. It is a pretty posh place to go to on a regular night and they have Miami nights (Thursdays?), but I have only been there to see a 'show' (indy bands that tour around play here). The atmosphere was great for the show I saw (At the Drive in!!! I love these guys! SO much energy and talent, and well they are pretty good looking too..) with the brick walls.
If you are going to this club on a normal night, DRESS UP!!! They do have a dress code; girls usually wear nice skirts etc. NO jeans or running shoes. Richards on Richards is a great place to see a show. Tickets are usually pretty cheap and usually you can completely avoid any Ticketmaster b.s.
Don't forget your i.d. There is a coat/bag check at the door.

North America's most incredible and sensational Fetish Night that goes to the limits with their Halloween parties .... This year (Oct 28, 2006) has been the best Halloween so far - with over 900 filling the rafters, some of the most incredible Halloween costumes on the streets in Vancouver, this double-floored new club that is hosting the 2nd monthly Fetish night (Sin City started out at Club 23 West, and continues there monthly) has brought the party to be one of the best to attend in North America for Halloween. They tossed back to their patrons, over $750 in cash prizes for the best costumes; Gothic B.C. runs a booth at the event, capturing the moment for those who wish a memory in the "no cameras/photos" club, Fetish vendors, and a dungeon upstairs for your BDSM pleasures. DJ's Pandemonium, Catherinna, Betty Ford, R-Lex, and your host Mr Dark has taken this night, yet again, to outrageous limits. Highly recommended venue, and the absolute best Fetish night I've ever been to in all my world travels. Rating: 5+ stars out of 5.
