I met up with this chick while snowboarding down the hill, apparently she works for the whistler tourists group. she mentioned it would be cheaper for ppl to NOT reserve the hotels in advance. i paid 300$ for the hotels (2 nights), and she said it would only cost 100-150ish had i just show up asking for accomodations.
double check for the price, you never know what kind of deal you might be getting... Leave a Comment

If you are planning on a trip to Whistler be aware that if there is any kind of holiday or school break during that time, the mountain will be extremely busy. On these weekends you may find that the crowds are more sparse on the back sides of the mountains.
Lift lines are typically not tremendously bad since there are 38 different lifts but picking one that isn’t as busy will make your experience more enjoyable.
Blackcomb seemed to me to be a little less busy than Whistler. You will be able to tell very quickly when you depart in the morning. The lines at the Gondola's will be a good indicator as to what mountain is being more heavily used. Leave a Comment

Many shops in the Whistler Village sell the same or very similar merchandise. The prices are typically quite high and being an American the exchange rate gets pretty confusing. Knowing the exchange rate and setting limits will help to keep you from overspending.
For any merchandise that catches your eye, if you are not in a hurry, look at other stores and make sure you are getting the best price. Sometimes the same shirt or coat will be much cheaper just across the street. Also keep your eyes open for sales and phoney sales. Some claim huge savings and are still more expensive than other stores.
I would suggest not buying any sporting merchandise in Whistler. You will be able to find it less expensive in many other places near you. Leave a Comment
