To give yourself the freedom to see whatever you want in this town, do whatever you want in & around this town &, perhaps most importantly, take as much time as you want then you absolutely MUST hire/rent a car.
Now, from the piccie attached you see our mode of transport was a convertible. Funny thing is that it wan't our preferred choice. It was all they had left (I really wondered abou that). All the same I'm glad we did get it & it was ideal for cruising the north shore & back into Haleiwa on Father's Day 2004.
We hired/rented our car from Dollar Rent A Car. It was a white Chrysler Sebring as you can see in th photo. We did see a few of these on the roads around Oahu so I suppose various rental cars did a good business in convertibles for the beautiful early summer weather. We'd definitely rent the same again on our next visit atr any time of the year.
Total cost for 5 days with all the extras such as loss/damage waiver at $17.99 per day came to a total of $598.25
