 | Houston Mi Luna Reviews | Tips 1 - 8 of 8 | | If you enjoy tapas food, and want a great atmosphere, this is the place to go. Located in the Rice Village, this restaurant serves excellent Spanish tapas dishes, which are usually smaller portions. It is nice to order a few different ones and share with everyone in your party. Most nights they have flamenco dancers, and Thursday night is salsa night, when the restaurant turns into a small dance club with a live salsa band. A great atmoshere, just like if you were in a tavern in Spain. Give it a try if you enjoy great Spanish food with a great ambiance!
Gambas al Ajillo. It's a shrimp dish, with garlic and some other stuff! :) Theme: OtherPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 2441 UniversityPhone: 713-520-5025Directions: In the Rice Village, on University Blvd.Website: http://mi-luna.com/

Mi Luna is a fun tapas restaurant. For those who may not know, tapas are spanish appetizers, i.e. small portions of food, cold or warm, typical of what is served in bars in Spain. You can get various forms of calamari, fried goat cheese, eggplant with spices, lamb dishes,... This restaurant's tapas are excellent, the waiters are very nice, the service good, the atmosphere great. Accompany that with a glass of nice spanish wine. Some evenings feature a flamenco entertainment after 8 pm. Mi Luna is a Spanish Tapas restaurant located in the Rice University Village district. This area of town pulls a pretty large crowds on the weekend nights. It's considered one of Houston's entertainment distrcts. The restaurant itself serves Spanish, Tapas style dishes. Which basically means small appertizer style portions. I haven't had a good meal here since 2004.
The food isn't very good, but it's an active place and the drinks aren't too bad. Standard Spanish drinks such as Sangria are served here. They also have a Tex-Spanish variation called the Sangrita (frozen Margarita + Sangria). Other drinks include a standard assortment of beers from Corona, to El Negro and a California biased wine list. Mi Luna is this wonderfully dim and loud tapas restaurant. If you haven't had tapa's.. it means something like everything is an appetizer. You come with friends and all order a little something and share between yourselves! OKAY! That was how it was BEFORE! It is horrible now! The portions are smaller, the taste is no longer as good.. and what the heck.. they run out of bread (you need it here to fill the void between the 6 clams they give you to share) on a Saturday night?! Thats like Taco Bell runnning out of taco shells?! I regret that what was once one of my favorite restaurants is just awful now.
