    Where better than to satisfy a sweet tooth, the selection in this bakery is fabulous. The baking company has been famous for its fruit cakes since 1898 and they are also well known for their pies and specialty goods. I bought a dozen of their cookies - all assorted and as they say 'cheaper by the dozen' plus a few of their tempting slices - a dieters worst nightmare.

    They have a Bake Shop Tea Room which serves pastry goodies, soup and sandwiches. Tours are available and the bakery ships worldwide.

    This is one of the great old buildings in the Old Town Palestine area of town. They offer a wide range of coffees and teas and also cappuccinos, lattes, soups, salads, sandwiches and other goodies.

    You can also purchase their coffee and tea's by the pound as well as syrups, chocolate covered espresso beans and giftware. The coffee house also exhibits work from local artists.

    This is a very popular steak house in Palestine, in fact it was voted the best restaurant by the town by the residents. They offer lunch and dinner with a full menu of seafood and steak selections.

    The restaurant is set up in an old brick building which once housed farm tractors in the Old Town Palestine part of town.

    The Magnolia Cafe is situated in the Old Magnolia Mercantile store. Just perfect for a light lunch or just to grab a coffee, cold drink and a take out lunch.

    One of the most popular restaurants in the small town of Palestine, this steak house has a good selection and pretty good cuisine to choose from. Serves lunch and dinner with an assortment of burgers, steaks, seafood, and appetizers. In the historic hub of Palestine, the building shows flavor of history and culture. I went with my field crew co-workers and we were all pleasantly surprised with the abundance of food and the size of the portions. Good service and good ambience. I had the chicken fried steak dinner which was larger than the plate it was on, and the crawfish appetizer is to die for. Rating 4 stars out of 5.
