    The islands have a varied and diverse animal population. One of these is the American Bald Eagle. It is a very large and awesome bird. If you look very closely (I KNOW that it is difficult in this pic) you can see what appears to be a white golf ball in the boughs of a Douglas Fir or Western Hemlock tree. If you have binoculars or a spotting scope you can confirm it.
