When you fly especially to South America and you have a long lay-over in Sao Paulo it is advisable to go to the secure a bag counter and have your luggage shrink wrapped. The cost involved is minimal US$4 – 6 depending on the size, but you will be ever thankfull that you did. Not only does it protect your suitcase, but it also reduces the risk of them opening up your bag and doing some affirmative shopping |

Casa de Cambio’s are everywhere, just make sure that you take your passport with you. Their system was quite strange to me, first you go to a counter where you hand over your US$ or Euro’s and passport. Your passport then gets returned to you and you have to go to another counter with your little receipt where they will give you your pesos. |
