Theatro Colon:-
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you have the time, take a guided tour of the Colon theatre. It is worth it. They do guided tours in English from Mon – Sun at 11h00, 13h00 and 15h00. Tickets are 12 Pesos but please remember that they do not accept US$ or Euros as payment. Have your pesos ready. The theatre was inaugurated in 1908 and it is still considered as one of the best opera houses in the world. Unfortunately there was no opera on whilst we were there, but we did go and see the ballet “Les sylphydes” . The tickets costed us 85 pesos and we sat front row on the forth balcony.

    Fiesta Gaucha tour
  • Tip Rating:
  • This full day tour is another must not miss tour when visiting Argentina. We were collected from our hotel for an 1 and half hour bus trip through the pampas until we got to the Santa Susana Estancia. Here we were met by the main man (who has also appeared in some movies) with all his international coins and then we were given empanadas and juice to welcome us to the farm. You could do some horseriding or horse-cart riding at own cost, visit the museum on the farm and the gift shop. For lunch we were served breadrolls and 3 different salads followed by an Argentinian barbecue, which consisted of fillet steak, chorizo sausages, bloodwurst, chicken and by this time I had stopped looking at the plates as they arrived with mounts of meat on them. Desert was an interesting little “cake” which reminded me of Chinese fortune cookies, but they were filled with quince jelly. After lunch we had a fantastic folk dance, tango dance and other dances and singers entertaining us and everyone just having a good time. All the drinks were free of charge and at the click of a finger there was a gaucha to see to your very need. After this we all went outside for a show by the gaucha’s of their skills with the horses and the highlight was the “carrera de sortija” (ring race) where the gaucha has to catch the ring hanging on a rope with a tool that reminded me of a pencil. Should he succeed he would offer the ring to a lady in the audience who then has to kiss him on his cheeck. On the journey back to BA most of the people dozed off and caught up with lost sleep, or maybe the alchol was just getting to them.

    Caminito Street
  • Tip Rating:
  • Probably one of the most picturesque streets in La Boca.

La Boca is a picturesque sector of the city with lots of history, legends and beautifull places to photograph. Homes here are built from wood, zinc sheeting and even from the boats that they work one. It is said that painting the front of the house in different colours comes from the paint left over when painting their boats. This is what gives La Boca its characteristic appearance and a tradition that is still alive today.

    The riverside train
  • Tip Rating:
  • On our way to the tigre we boarded the “mini” riverside train which took us on a journey for 5 stations. The stations along the way was extremely quint. We departed the mini train at san Isidro Station where we had some free time to go and explore the cathedral and the adjacent park.

    Tigre Y Delta
  • Tip Rating:
  • One of the things that you should not miss when visiting BA is visiting the Delta. The Delta consist of an area of 21,000 km and starts to form near the city of Diamante, in the province of Entre Rios and finishes in the Rio de la Plata. The islands in the Delta are inhabited by 3,000 people and his over 5000 waterways. It is rich in flora and fauna.
When you travel along the Delta, you will appreciate nature and what she has to offer for you and realize that this was one of those unique places that one should not overlook when traveling
